JAMA figure requirements

AMA · how to size, label, and export your figure

How figures are handled

JAMA sets no fixed column width and sizes or redraws figures in production. Submit clean, editable, high-resolution source and design your figure to read clearly at its final printed size.

Dimensions
No fixed widthssized to legibility / redrawn
Resolution
350 dpi minimum

Accepted export formats

PNGPDFTIFFJPEG

Watch: Data figures are redrawn and typeset to JAMA style in house.

There's no column width to match here, but the FigureForge preset still sets your export resolution, height, and format.

Source: JAMA author guidelines. Journal requirements change; always confirm against the current instructions before submitting.
